Shorlines End![]() MYSPACE Tanya: Thanks for taking the time out and doing this interview, to start off introduce yourself and tell us what it is you contribute to Shorelines End. Patrick: Well my names is Patrick Alan and i'm the singer/guitarist and writer for Shorelines End. Tanya: The band which consits of only Justin and you has been together for about seven months, yet you guys have had great success not only locally but all over myspace as well, why do you think that is? Patrick: Honestly I thinks its because the music we write is real. we're not doing this because we want people to think we're cool or because its the "scene" or whatever. Justin and I both have been playing professionally since we we're 11 and 12 yrs old, and we appreciate music for what it really is. and i know people pick up on that. you can always tell when a bands going to be a "one hit wonder" and when another is doing it because its their passion. Tanya: You guys are getting ready to release your debut EP entitled " The Written Years" what is the most meaningful song off of it to you, why? Patrick: All four songs have alot of meaning to me, but if i had to choose one i'd say You're the One. its written about the moment you fall in love with someone. and after that moment in your life nothing else is ever as meaningful again. Tanya: Why did you guys settle on the title " The Written Years"? Patrick- These songs represent the past 20 yrs of both of our lives, and now there written out and recorded, it just made since to title it what it really is. Tanya: Do you guys have any plans for touring in the near future? Patrick: Oh yess. as soon as we get the funding we plan on living on the road. we're going to do our best to play in every single state. Alaska and Hawaii included. Tanya: If you had the chance to share the stage with any band or artist who would you want it to be? Patrick: Justin would say Augustana, he's really digging that band at the moment, but i'd say Third Eye Blind. they have always been a huge influence of mine. Tanya: Where do you want to see the band in 3 years from now? Patrick- On the road touring on a 2nd full length album. Tanya: Whats one thing you want new listeners to know about Shorelines End? Patrick: We mean what we say. our lyrics, melodies and attitudes are all genuine. we only write music for the simple face that we love it. Tanya: Where did the bands name come from? Patrick: Our favorite dallas local band, Greatness in Tragedy(RIP) had a song titled Shoreline, and we decided to pay a little tribute to them. and Justin and I both love the beach! Tanya: What's it like knowing you have thousands of people who are supporting you and your music? Patrick: It's a very surreal feeling and we are very blessed to have such amazing and supportive friends, fans and family. Tanya: Finally, Any final words to your fans? Patrick: Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to do something we love. if it wasn't for you we'd be working at Starbucks or Chilis all our lives and we'll never forget that its because of you and only YOU that we got a chance to follow our dreams, Thank You.
