Brittany: Start off by telling us your name, how you joined and what you do in the band.
Chris: My name is Chris Qualls, Lauren Baird and I started Electric Valentine as a side project and it quickly escalated into a real band. I play synth, write songs, produce/engineer and mix all of our material.

Brittany: Describe the band in 4 words and tell us what you think sets you apart from other bands in your genre right now.
Chris: Sexy Electro Dance Pop Personally, I consider us to be very different from most "bands" in our genre. We actually play live and put time into our show instead of just buying a light system and some autotune rack units. We have an amazing drummer that plays with us and I have three synths and a vocoder set up to perform the parts live.

Brittany: Pick a song off of your Myspace and tell us what is is about.
Chris: I'll go with "A Night With You" because that was the first song we ever made for EV. The lyrics are about knowing exactly what you want from a person and not being afraid to tell them your intentions.

Brittany: Do you have any memorable fan experiences or shows that stand out to you so far?
Chris: We're very lucky with our fans and have some good hang out sessions after shows. One of my favorites was during our last tour about a month ago. We played a place in Colorado Springs called the Loft. It's a small venue, so it got pretty packed. The kids were amazing and dancing the whole time. Afterward we brought our puppy Melody to the merch booth and goofed around with all of the kids for about an hour.

Brittany: What are your goals as a band for the next couple of months?
Chris: Right now we are about 3/4 of the way done with our album. We're planning on releasing it on July 28th. So for the next couple months we're going to be holed up in our studio working and then we hit the road pretty hard.

Brittany: When on tour what are 3 things you keep with you at all times?
Chris: My laptop, wet ones (or van-baths as we call them) and our dog.

Brittany: Do you have any hidden talents or guilty pleasures you want to share?
Chris: I was all conference in water polo a couple years ago. I also pwn noobs on a regular basis on Xbox live.

Brittany: What is the best advice you can give someone about making in the music business?
Chris: Find a better profession. The industry is ugly and everyone is out to screw you. Your career will be one huge heartbreak after another.

Brittany: What is one city or venue that you have always wanted to play at?
Chris: There is a venue in Pomona, CA called the glasshouse that is awesome. I grew up going to punk rock shows there and it's the only venue that I grew up dreaming about that I haven't played...yet

Brittany: Any last words for your fans and readers?
Chris: We love all of you and appreciate all the support you've given us. Stay Tuned for our debut full length "Automatic" We're going next level with it Thanks a bunch - we appreciate the interview and the exposure. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you in the future.
