Before Their Eyes Myspace.com/beforetheireyes Brittany: Start off by telling us your name, how you joined and what you do in the band. Landon: My name is Landon, I play guitar. I joined about a year and a half ago, I was friends with the old guitarist. He got me in on bass when their old bassist left, then he ended up leaving the band and I switched to guitar. Super confusing haha. Brittany: Can you describe the band's sound for people who have never checked you out before? Landon: We consider ourselves a pop rock band that screams. I hate the genre "screamo". We try to have a good hook in every song, and we try to write songs that stick in your head all day and drive you insane. Brittany: Who came up with the band name? Landon: Our singers wife actually. They were in church and a they read something in the bible that had "Before Their Eyes" in it, and she was like hey that'd make a sweet band name! Apparently he thought so too. Brittany: What is your favorite song to perform live and why? Landon: Probably "The Me I Used To Be". The breakdown is fun, and I can connect with the lyrics every time. Brittany: Do you have any hidden talents or guilty pleasures you want to share? Landon: HA! Well, pretty much everything I do and like is a guilty pleasure. I listen to girly music, and I watch corny TV shows/movies. Brittany: What are some things you keep with you at all times when on tour? Landon: Deodorant, fingernail clippers, beanies, a can opener for tuna, and a notebook. Brittany: Are there any shows or fan experiences that stand out to you overall? Landon: Yeah, we had some amazing shows on this tour with Silverstein. It's weird when kids already know my name and ask me stuff that they've read about me in a blog or something. It amazes me anytime anyone knows who we are, every time. Brittany: What is the best advice you can give someone trying to break into the music scene? Landon: Do your thing, don't let peoples words and opinions stop you from making music you love. Even if your mom and dad are your only fans, as long as you love the music you're making, keep making it. Brittany: What is your opinion on the music industry right now, would you change anything if you had the opportunity? Landon: It's good in bad, there's a lot of things I hate and a lot that I love. I really wish heavier music could get more mainstream. Brittany: If you could put together a dream tour who would be on it? Landon: Underoath, Sleeping Giant, As Cities Burn, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Taking Back Sunday, Jimmy Eat World, Copeland, Lydia, and For The Fallen Dreams. Brittany: Do you guys have any plans for the next couple months? Landon: This summer we're touring with He Is Legend, and Drop Dead, Gorgeous. After that we're recording our new CD!
